A Chic San Fernando Cathedral Wedding | Tanya and Jesus
When Tanya and Jesus envisioned their wedding day, they dreamed of a celebration that was both elegant and timeless. Their vision came to life in a stunning white and green color palette, creating a classy and chic ambiance that left guests in awe. With the historic San Fernando Cathedral as the backdrop for their ceremony and a sophisticated reception at the San Fernando Ballroom, their wedding was a beautiful blend of tradition and modern elegance. Join us as we explore the details of Tanya and Jesus's unforgettable wedding day.
The San Fernando Cathedral Wedding Ceremony
Tanya and Jesus chose the San Fernando Cathedral for their ceremony, one of San Antonio's gem, known for its historical significance and breathtaking architecture. Tanya and her wedding party had makeup and hair done at an Airbnb prior to arriving to the cathedral, but were able to wait and do final touches at the venue’s bridal space. Tanya also opted for a first look with dad and it was the sweetest moment yet.
The couple's choice of a white and green color palette complemented the cathedral's timeless beauty, with lush greenery and delicate white florals adorning the altar. While guests were taking their seats, the pianist was playing beautiful instrumental songs to set in the mood. The family and wedding party were all lined up by us, the coordinators, and let the musician and the priest know that the processional and wedding mass can commence. The processional began and then Tanya walked down the aisle in a beautiful full skirt gown, leaving not a dry eye in the house.
The San Fernando Cathedral Wedding Cocktail Hour
Following the heartfelt ceremony, guests made their way to the San Fernando Ballroom for an evening of celebration guided by the violinist, Kate Simmone, as she played romantic melodies. At the reception venue, a long entryway greeted the guests with a welcome sign and pictures of Tanya and Jesus throughout the years (They are high school sweethearts). Cocktail hour took place in the open-aired courtyard where signature drinks were offered while the violinist played next to the water fountain. A beautiful backdrop of greenery and white roses with a neon sign that said "Always & Forever" was set up in the middle of the courtyard for guest to take pictures and interact. Mexican Candy/treats bar was also set up and open for guests to eat and enjoy while our couple and their wedding party were taking pictures in the San Fernando Cathedral.
The San Fernando Cathedral Wedding Reception
The ballroom was transformed into a chic space, with elegant white linens, green accents, and stunning floral arrangements by Freesia Designs. thank you cards from the bride and groom were also placed at each place setting creating a sweet and personalized touch for their guests. The sophisticated decor created a warm and inviting atmosphere, perfect for an evening of dining, dancing, and joyous festivities.
The sweetheart table was in the center of the ballroom, accentuated by off-white drapery and a full-bodied floral spray. The table was adorned with a textured satin linen, candles, votives, and a second full-bodied floral spray that resembled the flowers from the backdrop.
Got It Covered provided an exquisite catering experience, with a menu that delighted the senses. Guests enjoyed a house salad with a strawberry vinaigrette, and as for the main course, almond crusted chicken with sautéed veggies and mashed potatoes, each thoughtfully prepared and beautifully presented. Additionally, the mariachi band Alma de Jalisco added a lively and festive touch to the celebration, serenading guests with traditional Mexican music and creating an atmosphere of joy and excitement during dinner.
As for the cake....
The wedding cake is often the centerpiece of the reception, and Cakes and More did not disappoint. The bakery crafted a stunning multi-tiered cake that was as beautiful as it was delicious. Decorated with intricate details and fresh flowers, the cake was a true work of art.
As for the entertainment. the talented DJ from Freestyle kept the dance floor lively the entire evening. While Elite Bartending ensured that guests had their favorite drinks in hand to keep the party going.
To ensure that guests had an unforgettable experience, Tanya and Jesus enlisted the help of Vegas Entertainment for a fun and interactive photo booth. Guests enjoyed capturing silly and candid moments, creating lasting memories to take home.
The end of the night was just as magical as the rest of the day, while we (the planner and coordinators) directed guests outside and prepared for send-off, our couple enjoyed one last private dance in the ballroom. I personally love when couple include a last private dance to be able to enjoy and witness the culmination of their big day in an intimate setting just them two before the final event, the send-off.
Once they concluded their dance, the walked down an aisle of family and friends with fun strings that created a fun and magical exit and then hoped in their awesome get-away-car! What a night!
